This page is to present my professionnal activity. My research interest goes for decision-making in power system operation and planning. This includes aspects related with modeling, control, optimization, and economics of energy systems.

Biography

I graduated from both Supelec, France (2003) and TU Darmstadt, Germany (2004) in electrical engineering and received the PhD degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology, USA (2009).

From Oct 2004 through Dec 2010, I was an Assistant Professor with the Department of Power and Energy Systems at Supelec, where I taught master-level classes in electrical engineering and specialized classes in power systems control and economics. Besides, I managed numerous research and development contracts with institutional and industrial partners such as CRE, EDF, RTE, Areva T&D, Alstom, RATP, and Renault.

From Jan 2011 through Nov 2011, I was a Senior Researcher with the INESC Porto, Portugal. I was principal investigator for the FP7 project CitInES on energy planning for urban and industrial sites and won a research grant on smart grid communications with CISCO. Besides, I contributed to the FP7 project TWENTIES on offshore HVdc grids and to the Portuguese project REIVE on electricity price forecasting with electric vehicles. I have also contributed to studies on FACTS and wind power integration in the Portuguese transmission system.

Since Dec 2011, I have worked as Researcher with EDF R&D, France. I am leading research on economics and regulation of power distribution and representing EDF in various expert groups on smart grids deployment.
